Yeni medya ve performans alanlarında çalısan genç sanatçı Arzu Özkal, Bilkent Üniversitesi Grafik Tasarım Bölümü’nden sonra, Buffalo Üniversitesi (SUNY Buffalo) Sanat Bölümü’nde yüksek lisans çalışmasını tamamlamıştır. Şu anda, Oberlin Üniversitesi’nde ögretim üyesi olarak görev yapan Özkal, gelenek, günlük yaşam, sosyal ve politik baskı grupları, çevre ve çevre politikaları konularında ürettiği projeleri ve deneysel videoları sunacaktır.

Arzu Ozkal is a young artist exploring the concept of the body and its relation to social political discourses through videos, public interventions and performances. She’s a graduate of Bilkent University and SUNY Buffalo. Currently, she serves as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Art at Oberlin College, where she teaches, organizes events, and contributes to curriculum development in the Media Arts Department. She will be giving a presentation on her projects and video works dealing with topics such as tradition, daily life, social and political pressure groups, environment and environment politics.

Eytan İpeker, New York Üniversitesi Sinema ve Televizyon Bölümü mezunu. 2006 yılında Berlin Film Festivali kapsamında “Yetenek Kampüsü”’ne katıldı. Deneysel ve konulu kısa filmleri pek çok uluslararası festivalde gösterildi. Yunanistan’da Uluslararası Bağımsız Film ve Video Festivali’nde ‘Video Sanatı Özel Ödülü’nü ve İtalya’da Land of the Living Shorts Festivali’nde Jüri Ödülü’nü kazandı. 2007 yılında İtalya’daki Abstracta / Soyut Film Festivali’ne katıldı. Pera Müzesi’nde “Biçimsizler” deneysel video programında ve Babylon Lounge’da Renan Koen ile “Döngüler: Arasında” adlı gösterimler gerçekleştirdi. Şu anda piyanist İdil Biret hakkında bir belgeselin yönetmenliğini yapıyor.

Eytan Ipeker graduated from Film and Television Department of New York University. In 2006, he participated in the “Berlinale Talent Campus”. His experimental and narrative shorts were screened in many international festivals around the world. He won the Video Art Special Prize in the International Independent Film and Video Festival (Greece) and Specail Jury Praise Award in The Land of The Living Shorts Festival (Italy). In 2007, his abstract videos were shown in Abstracta Film Festival(Italy). He participated in Pera Museum’s “The Shapeless” experimental film and video screening and collaborated with Renan Koen in the performance piece “Cycles: In-Between” for Babylon Lounge. His latest project is a documentary on the accalaimed pianist Idil Biret.
